2 Things that Can Change Your Life and Your Career

Phiona Mutesi.

That order may sound strange to you, but it doesn’t sound strange to some people.

That brings to mind the movie, QUEEN OF KATWE.

She found she was born in a slum in KATWE.

She found her parents were poor.

She found her destiny would be like the others born in KATWE.

David Oyelowo is Robert Katende and Madina Nalwanga is Phiona Mutesi in Disney’s QUEEN OF KATWE, the vibrant true story of a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess.

But she found ‘the man and a game’.

Rather, ‘the man and the game’ found her.

Either way,

‘the man and the game’ was her route out of the slum, insignificance and poverty.

‘The man and the game’ became her lever for transforming the lives of others and putting the name of her village on global map.

Why are you still hidden?

Why is your voice not heard yet?

Why is your book not written yet?

Why is that dream of yours still VERY FAW AWAY?

Why are you not recognised yet?

Why are you not who you ought to be yet?

One reason I can give you for all these questions (among so many other reasons):

You haven’t found YOUR ‘the man and the game’ yet.

The moment you find ‘the man and game’ you will be on your way out of insignificance.

You will be on your way out of poverty.

You will be on your way out of inactivity.

You will be on your way out of obscurity.

In few words, YOUR DREAMS will take a flight.

Your ‘the man and the game’ may come to you in different shades and forms.

It may show up as a book.

It may show up as a mentor.

It may show up as a trainer.

It may show up as a friend.

It may show up as an event.

It may show up as a situation.

Whatever form shades it takes, it (he/she) has come to guide you into your relevance and significance.

It (he/she) has come to act as a BRIDGE to your dream.

It has come to help you make your dream (and that which you haven’t dreamt yet) to become a reality.

Your SOLE RESPONSIBILITY is to KEEP your eyes and heart open to RECOGNISE ‘the man and the game’.

Your transformation lies there.

‘The Man’ – Your Mentor, teacher, instructor, coach, guide, strategy, book, a speech, etc

‘The Game’ – Your field of work, niche, career path, business, etc.

Living in the slum of Katwe in Kampala, Uganda, is a constant struggle for 10-year-old Phiona (Madina Nalwanga) and her family. Her world changes one day when she meets Robert Katende (David Oyelowo), a missionary who teaches children how to play chess. Phiona becomes fascinated with the game and soon becomes a top player under Katende’s guidance. Her success in local competitions and tournaments opens the door to a bright future and a golden chance to escape from a life of poverty.” – Wikipedia
